Falmouth juniors enjoy winter golf in the Algarve
A group of young golf players from Falmouth have just returned from Portugal after leaving the wet weather in England for some half term golf in the Algarve.
The team of 12 junior golfers, led by junior organiser Mick Fox from Falmouth Golf Club, headed to Vilamoura for coaching and half term practice in the sun.
The trip, which included coaching sessions with Golf Professionals in Portugal and Falmouth PGA Professional Rob MacGregor, also included three rounds of golf at the Vilamoura courses of Pinal, Laguna, and Millennium.
One of the rounds included a match against a group of junior golfers from the Vilamoura Dom Pedro golf clubs.
The trip was funded by the juniors themselves, some local businesses, and parents, all working hard to cover the costs of the trip.
The juniors have generated funds through various activities, including a 72-hole golf challenge, night golf, quiz nights, and horse race nights.
Mick Fox expressed gratitude for everyone's efforts to make the trip possible and hoped to organise a similar trip next year.
